An App for Everything!

I was passing by the Apple store in Century City a couple of weekends ago and I just had to take a picture of this front window display because it was so eye-catching...and true, there really is an App for just about everything! For those who own an iPhone or iTouch you know what I am referring to but for those of you who don't they are pretty cool. Apps designed for iPhone are nothing short of amazing. Just tap into the App Store and choose from thousands of applications ready to download immediately. iPhone and iPod touch let you easily flick through news on Digg, play Sudoku or Bejeweled with a finger tap, and quickly check movie times, train schedules, and favorite blogs. The options truly are endless. A couple of my favorites are Scrabble and Wurdle but my son says Super Monkey Ball and Flight Control rule. In addition to the silly and fun there are a lot of very useful educational, travel and informational apps as well. There's even a flashlight App and handy Dictionary Apps. Just had to chime on my favorite new technology.

Sandpipers Event Yesterday

As you already may know from reading my last blog entry, yesterday I participated in the annual Sandpipers Spring Fashion Show Luncheon and Boutique at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. I had to brave the elements in the morning with an unexpected down pour... fortunately the rain had subsided by the time I got to the loading alley. It was a day of fashion (Lilly Pulitzer was the headline designer for the show) and fun for all the ladies and gentlemen in attendance. I have participated in this event for four of the past five years and it is always a lot of fun. It was my first show of the Spring season so I had to get all my goods out of their temporary resting spots and start getting into "show mode" once again. It was a good day and I had the chance to catch up with many of my vendor and Sandpiper friends during the course of the day. My next event is the Walk on the Wildside next month in Rancho Palos Verdes.

Sandpipers Event This Sunday

Well, it's that time of year again. Spring Boutique season is kicking off for me this weekend with my annual participation in the Sandpipers Spring Fashion Show Luncheon & Boutique. This year's event will be held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills on Sunday, March 22nd from 9:30am to 2:30pm with fashions featuring designs by Lilly Pulitzer.

Sandpipers (www.sandpipers.org) is a non-profit organization that benefits many people in need in the South Bay. Last year alone, Sandpipers raised and distributed more than $420,000 in the form of college scholarships, grants and services to over 60 community organizations, and provided emergency financial assistance to local families in crisis. I am always happy to support this outstanding organization and look forward to a successful event on Sunday.

Still in Remodel Heaven?

Once again, I have been remiss in keeping up to date with my blog...shame on me. I am, however, happy to report that the remodel is coming along nicely and I am told we are about 3 weeks out from completion. Not bad considering the fact that this has turned into a much bigger project than originally anticipated. Cleaning out every ounce of the two bedrooms my three children share almost put me over the edge on the packing up and moving scale but I survived. We are now holding camp in the master bedroom and office with the five of us...talk about family togetherness. Time we will treasure though I am sure. Since this seems to be my life these days, here are a few more pictures of the progress. I must get back to creating stationery... ha ha ha, more on that later!
